Welcome to my webpage on the sale of my love, my 1997 BMW 318ti. After much deliberation, I have decided that it is time to sell my 318ti, which was purchased new by my father in 1997 & has been in the family ever since!
The car is a 1997 model, 5 SPD. Manual, Active Package, Boston Green Exterior, Sand/Gray Leatherette Interior, Sunroof, In-dash Kenwood CD & Sirius Satellite Radio.
The car is in excellent shape and has had lots and lots of care through the years, both cosmetically and mechanically - Please see my spreadsheet of maintenance and repairs, covering 18k plus over her lifetime. She has 204K miles on her, but looks like she has about half of that amount. We live on the rural eastern shore of Maryland, so driving 100 miles (or more) in a day is a fairly common occurrence, hence the high mileage. Oil changes have been performed religiously every 2,500-3,000 miles. I have all records to pass along to a buyer. She has been (heated & cooled) garage kept since 2004 & under a cover much of the time before then. The car still gets around 32-34 MPG & runs very well. Transmission shifts well. The Carfax Report on the car does reflect an accident with an animal - a deer actually, back in 1998. The deer only hit the windshield and the sheetmetal between the windshield and the sunroof (roof was open at the time). The car was professionally repaired by a body shop in Easton, known for fixing vehicles properly. Years later, a friend accidentally backed into the driver's side door in a driveway, and the same body shop repaired this minor damage as well. Neither of these incidents has effected the performance or integrity of the car & she has been running great for many, many years! This car is very, very clean and has several coats of Zaino Bros. polish on her! Paint is in great shape for her age and mileage, but it does have a few small blemishes. No rust that I have seen anywhere, even with the car up on the lift. Driver's seat base cushion has a small split in it (seen in the photos) & steering wheel leather is showing some wear. Otherwise, the interior is in great shape. Headliner was replaced several years ago and is in great shape (no sagging).
This car has been well loved by a long time BMWCCA enthusiast and car enthusiast family. Recent upgrades are Koni adjustable sport shocks all around & Yokohama S. Drive tires, which make for a very nice handling car. I do have a full second set of wheels (identical to the stock active package wheels and those seen in the photos) which have Michelin X-Ice X2 snow tires mounted on them. This car was rarely driven in snow, but I had heard so many good things about snow tires, I figured that I would try a set. Anyway, tread depth on both Yokohama summer tires and Michelin winter tires are great.
I feel like I am selling a member of the family selling this car! She has become part of the family & it breaks my heart to sell her. However, I have purchased a newer Bimmer, and do not need a second car. Did I mention that she is very clean and has had lots of love throughout her lifetime? Look forward to hearing from you.
Asking $4,500 - Offers.
